Accessing your quiz in Respondus

Using LockDown Browser and/or Monitor on Your Personal Device

Classic Quizzes

Once you have Downloaded LockDown Browser, when it is time to take a quiz or test using LockDown Browser or Monitor, please follow the steps listed below.

1.    Close all windows and applications on your computer.

2.    Locate the LockDown Browser application on your computer.

o    Windows Devices: Find the LockDown Browser Icon and Click on it

o    Mac: In the Applications Folder, locate the LockDown Browser icon and open the application.

o    Chromebook Devices: The application is a web extenstion that can be found by clicking on the puzzle piece that appears behind the URL address bar in Google Chrome

o    iPad: Locate the application on your device to begin.

3.    Once you have opened LockDown Browser, you will see the Canvas Log-in page.

4.    Log into Canvas and navigate to the course where the test or exam is located.

5.    When you click on the exam, if you are required to use a Webcam, instructions will guide you through a webcam check, a surroundings check, etc. Please follow the directions on the screen!

6.    Once you start the test, you will be locked into the Browser and must complete the test.

7.    Once you have completed the test, you will be able to exit the Lockdown Browser application.

New Quizzes

1.    Once you have Downloaded LockDown Browser, when it is time to take a quiz or test using LockDown Browser or Monitor, please follow the steps listed below.

2.    Using a regular browser (Google Chrome is the preferred browser for Canvas), login to Canvas

3.    Navigate to the class where the quiz or test is located.

4.    Navigate to the quiz or test link.

5.    Once you click on the quiz or test link, you will be redirected to a notification (see picture below)

7.    Click "Open LockDown Browser" -- Note: if you have applications open, you may be directed to close them.

8.    The quiz or test should begin in the browser you are using. It will "LockDown."

9.    If your instructor requires the use of a webcam, directions will appear on the screen to help you with webcam setup, room scans, identity verification, and/or showing any work that the teacher has allowed -- mostly for Math.
